The Heroic Crew Got National and Departmental Awards

The awarding ceremony of the U6-178 crew took place on November, 20 in Gostiny Dvor as part of the “Transport week” being held these days in Moscow. The awards were presented by the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Maxim Alekseevich Akimov and the Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Evgeny Ivanovich Dietrich.

The crew of the Air Carrier “Ural Airlines” was awarded for heroism during the heavy landing of the aircraft “Airbus A321” and evacuation to a corn field in the suburbs of Moscow. As a result of coordinated actions of members of flight and cabin crew, none of the passengers was injured.

The national awards, i.e. the Orders of Courage, were presented to the following flight attendants: Dmitry Ivlitsky, Aliya Slyakayeva, Dmitry Goncharenko, Yana Yagodina and Nadezhda Vershinina.

Departmental awards, such as “Expert of the Air Transport”, received all seven crew members of the Airbus A321, including pilots Damir Yusupov and Georgiy Murzin.

It is worthwhile saying that today, on November, 21, in the Kremlin the pilots will be awarded the Hero of Russia medals by the Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. The corresponding presidential edict was signed in August of the current year.
